At its meeting on Wednesday, the National Alcohol Beverage Policy Committee decided to extend the battle for New Year’s Road Safety. The improvement was intended to cover the longer vacation time this time, running from Dec 27, 2024 to Jan 5, 2025.  ,  ,
The beginning of the highway safety and injury prevention center was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. He claimed that road users were exposed to higher risks as a result of the administration’s focus on 10 crucial time until Sunday January 5 ( January 5 ). He urged drivers to strictly adhere to traffic laws and steer clear of drink-driving or drowsy driving in order to assist authorities reduce road accidents.

Emergency medical groups had carefully monitor high-risk areas that are prone to numerous accidents, according to Public Health Minister Somsak Thepsutin, and be prepared to support residents along major thoroughfares, including Motorway No. 6 ( M6), which runs from Bang Pa-In to Nakhon Ratchasima, and the new 96-kilometre Motorway No. 81 ( M81 ) linking Bang Yai district in Nonthaburi province with Kanchanaburi. A coordinated efforts among area, water, and air travel companies has also been put in place.
Dr Taejing Siripanich, secretary-general of the Don’t Pull Drunk Foundation, said extending the highway safety plan from seven to 10 days was great but the state needed to prioritise this problem all year round. He cited data showing that such efforts could significantly lower road accidents by 50 %, compared to an average of 40 fatalities per time outside the so-called” seven or 10 dangerous time” of the year.  ,
During the” seven hazardous time” of the New Year’s Eve holiday last year, 284 people were reported dead and 2 307 were injured in 288 traffic incidents across the nation.
