As part of a nationwide initiative to help seniors era constantly, Silver Guardian has been launched as a new volunteer program.
The third component of Age Well SG‘s latest program is the fifth, with the third one improving living conditions, transportation options, and extending programs to keep seniors connected.
Age Also SG, which replaces Healthier SG, was announced in August 2023 and was released in November that year.
In his resources talk in February, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong stated that the government will also set off S$ 3.5 billion over the next ten years for initiatives under Age Well SG.
Health Minister Ong Ye Kung made the most recent initiative announcement on Friday ( Apr 5 ) at the Presbyterian Community Services Esther Active Ageing Centre.
Seniors may encounter a sense of loss article- retirement, Mr Ong said, adding that this void had been filled by , volunteerism, even if it is not a , complete substitute for work.
The Agency for Integrated Care ( AIC ) has recruited thousands of volunteers, known as Silver Generation Ambassadors. These volunteers now follow seniors in their homes and community centers by monitoring them and connecting them with appropriate government initiatives.
SILVER GUARDIAN Initiative
Silver Guardian, the fresh volunteer program that was launched on Friday, will enhance the work of Silver Generation Ambassadors, according to Mr. Ong.
The new Silver Guardian volunteers will assist in the implementation of activities at  , Active Ageing Centres ( AAC ), and  , such as making friends with seniors, as well as organizing and organizing activities at the AACs.
