Surachate: Legal disputes still raging

Despite rumors of an antagonistic marriage, Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol, who was recently named the new federal police commander, stated during an interview that he still maintains close friendships with his lieutenant.

The attack on Pol Gen Surachate’s home on September 25 was carried out by the Police Cyber Taskforce product, which he had no control over at the moment, according to information made public yesterday in a TV program on Channel 9.

Big Cleaning Day, an operation that targeted 30 places in Bangkok and five counties allegedly connected to online gambling sites operating in Laos with a combined market value of about one billion baht, included an in-depth research of Pol Gen Surachate’s rental home there.

In the meantime, Ananchai Chaidej, a lawyer who represents Pol Gen Surachate and eight of his colleagues, revealed to the media that he had been called by an unidentified party and told to drop the case.

Mr. Ananchai complained to the Southern Bangkok Criminal Court, claiming that the police’s request for an arrest warrant for Pol Gen Surachate and his employees involved contempt of court.

The advertising should keep an eye out for it, Mr. Ananchai continued, adding that he would release new knowledge on Thursday.

The Royal Thai Police HQ will host a policy statement meeting with the new federal police chief today at 1.30 p.m. with his representatives, directors, and senior officials.

According to reports, Pol Gen Torsak may outline the RTP’s objectives and give his representatives priority for the 2024 financial time.
