After a Chinese artist was duped into a lawless region of Myanmar after arriving in the country, the government plans to intensify its tourism strategy while also increasing security measures to reestablish flagging Chinese self-confidence in Thailand.
According to a spokeswoman for the government, Paetongtarn Shinawatra yesterday gave orders to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to launch initiatives to improve visitor confidence.
According to Mr. Jirayu, the premier even instructed the police chief to ensure that there are enough tourist policeman on duty and that close surveillance is conducted in areas at risk to stop powerful groups ‘ activities.
The official said the prime minister said that although the Chinese artist who went missing in Myanmar had been found, this tragedy had impacted Chinese tourists ‘ confidence.
Wang Xing, also known as Xingxing, a Taiwanese artist, went missing for several weeks after flying into Bangkok and crossing the Thai-Myanmar borders.

The primary secretary also instructed the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to stop fabricated news reports and work closely with Taiwanese officials to win back Chinese visitors ‘ trust, he added.
On Sunday, authorities inspector-general Pol Gen Thatchai Pitaneelabut met with representatives from the Chinese embassy in Bangkok. They discussed setting up a center for Thai and Chinese authorities to organize searches for those who are deceived into neighboring nations, and they discussed sharing information about international violence, including call scams.

Wang was located in Myanmar on January 5 and made his way back to Thailand the following morning before making his way back to China on Saturday.
Two additional Chinese citizens have recently been reported missing in similar circumstances as Wang, but they have not already been located.
According to a cause, these incidents have caused many Chinese people to lose faith in Thailand, leading to a 20-30 % decrease in Chinese tour parties this Lunar New Year.
Eason Chan, a singer from Hong Kong, also announced the immediate cancellation of his Feb. 22 concert at Impact Arena due to safety concerns for his Chinese fans.
