Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, the president of the People’s Party, was given royal approval as the opposition’s new president on Tuesday morning at a ceremony held at parliament.
Mr Natthaphong is the 11th leader of the opposition in the Thai House of Representatives. On September 25, Royal confirmation was announced. A group of Women’s Party MPs attended Tuesday’s formal meeting.
The Person’s Party has the most Members on the criticism benches, and no group member serves on the government, or as House presenter or as lieutenant speaker. These are the requirements for appointing an antagonism head.
A condemnation discussion was likely early next year, according to Mr. Natthaphong, who promised to be clear about reviewing the government’s performance.
Mr Natthaphong is a former MP of the , Future Forward and Move Forward events, which were both dissolved by he judge. He was a Move Forward MP who later joined the Women’s Party and was elected as party chief in August.
Chaithawat Tulathon was the opposition’s past president. When the court ordered the breakdown of the Move Forward Party, he was for ten years barred from politicians.
