New developments in Nee Soon will raise value of property in the area: Shanmugam

Home Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam said on Saturday ( Feb 15 ) that new developments in Chong Pang will likely increase the value of properties in and around the ward, which is located in Nee Soon Group Representation Constituency ( GRC ).

He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the My Nee Quickly carnival and show, stating that the constituency has changed significantly over the years thanks to improvements in transportation connectivity, environmental sustainability, and healthcare facilities.

” One of the things we talk about now is the new Chong Pang included centre”, noted Mr Shanmugam.

Plans for the new included growth were first made public in September 2020, followed by a groundbreaking service in March 2023.

Fixed to be completed in 2027, it will house the Chong Pang Community Club, Chong Pang Hawker Centre and Market, swimming pools and a mall, among other services.

” Of course, it may make the whole place seem better, and I expect that values of the flats will also go up outside, not only Lee Pang but even Nee Quickly Central”, said Mr Shanmugam, who helms the Chong Pang division.

Medical Gateway OF THE Northern

Mr. Shanmugam continued to make efforts to make Nee Quickly the “healthcare hub of the north” in his notes.

” You have Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, you have two polyclinics, two or three society healthcare kampungs, and we are trying to make Nee Quickly a dementia-friendly village, with bigger signage, easier for older people”, he said.

Residents had a variety of engaging experiences at the My Nee Quickly exhibition, including modeling out their future plans for the district and exploring landmarks that using an interactive map.

Derrick Goh, a member of the Nee Immediately GRC and the president of the Nee Quickly Town Council, stated that one of the most important initiatives for conservation is installing solar panels on the rooftops of all HDB flats in the constituency.
