New chief executive to helm Singapore Land Authority from May 1

According to a press release released on Wednesday ( Apr 2 ), Mr. Calvin Phua will take over as the Singapore Land Authority ( SLA )’s chief executive from May 1.

He will achieve Mr. Low, who has led SLA since April 12, 2021.

Mr. Phua is MinLaw’s current deputy secretary ( policy ).

Before joining the Law Ministry, he held the position of deputy director at the Ministry of Travel. He also served in various ministers.

Mr. Phua spearheaded efforts to improve access to justice and develop Singapore’s legal program while working for MinLaw, including the creation of the Public Defender’s Office.

He also collaborated with various organizations to expand Singapore’s power as a hub for international dispute resolution.

Mr. Phua even spearheaded the implementation of enabling legal frameworks that benefited the COVID-19 crisis and the financial effects of it.

” We have every confidence that Calvin may develop on Colin’s initiatives and take SLA to greater heights,” said Permanent Secretary of MinLaw Luke Goh, and we look forward to continuing to work strongly with him in his new power as the chief executive of SLA.

Yeoh Oon Jin, the president of SLA’s board of directors, stated that Mr. Phua’s” proper insights and proven experience” will supply continuity as SLA moves into a new chapter of growth.

Mr. Low has been credited with improving and rejuvenating position land and properties for a range of economic, cultural, and community uses since taking over as SLA’s CEO.

Mr. Low played a pivotal role in initiating green property management practices and led the adoption of important neighborhood programming as part of the SLA-managed price-quality tender system, acknowledging the importance of sustainability and the role state properties you sing in serving the community.

He also introduced the updated Singapore Geospatial Master Plan Version 2.0, which spearheaded spatial implementation across a range of industries.

This led to improvements in bright state solutions, such as the creation of 3D area models and new modeling datasets that assistance climate change initiatives.

Mr. Low “led the team to push boundaries” in the geographic field, putting Singapore as a global leader in geographic capabilities, according to Mr. Goh.

Under his management, SLA has created innovative and original ways to use state property.
