ALL SINGAPOREAN Children QUALIFY
10 days of paid parental leave are provided by the novel arrangement for both parents. This will be paid by the government, up to the prevailing cap of S$ 2, 500 ( US$ 1, 900 ) a week, said the National Population and Talent Division ( NPTD ) on Sunday.
Unmarried mothers are among the available parents of Singaporean babies under the fresh shared parental leave scheme.  , For father, only those who are lawfully married will be available
The system will become implemented in two aspects:  ,
- Parents of children born on April 1, 2025 will be able to take a 6-week shared filial left.  ,
- The whole 10 months of parental leave will be available to those whose children are born on April 1, 2026.  ,
By definition, the 10 days of shared familial left will be evenly distributed between both families. This means that each parent must spend three days with their child for births born between April 1 and March 31; this also applies to children born between April 1 and April 31.  ,
However, kids can redistribute their leave based on their parenting demands, NPTD said in its press release. This would think, for instance, that one parent can get all 10 days.
Within four months of the child’s birth, changes to the leave-sharing plans should be made. Any modifications made after that will be governed by the employer’s deal.  ,
Within the first 12 weeks of the child’s birth, shared parental keep should also be taken.  ,
Kids can get the shared paid leave in a constant stop after they have exhausted their government-paid maternity and paternity leave within the first 26 months of the child’s birth if parents and their employers cannot come to terms on the left arrangements.  ,
The latest program, which allows working parents to share up to four months of maternity leave with their spouses, has a small take-up level. According to the NPTD, just 6 % of entitled working parents have taken for leave.
