SINGAPORE: This month’s National Day heartland festivities will take place at Bishan, Punggol, Yishun, Paya Lebar and Buona Vista.
The celebrations will take place on August 10th, the day after National Day, according to the organizers in a news release on Friday ( Jul 12 ).
There may also be , exhibits, shows, family-friendly actions, and fireworks.
The celebrations- organised by the People’s Association ( PA ) in partnership with the National Day Parade ( NDP ) 2024 Executive Committee - , will be held at the following locations, each with a unique theme:
- Central region:” Unity in Diversity” at the open area opposite Bishan Circle Line MRT Station
- North-east area:” One HOME” at the Punggol empty field following to Waterway Point
- North-west region:” Moving Forward, Cherishing our History” at the open area next to FutsalArena@Yishun
- South-east region:” Lights Up, Energy Up” at the available area next to Paya Lebar Quarter 1
- South-west neighborhood:” Souls ToGather” at the open area next to Buona Vista MRT Station
The locations will be available from 4pm to 9pm on August 10.
On a first-come, first-served base, the general public can then pick up the tickets for the festivities in their districts and neighborhood clubs.
Maximum of two tickets can be collected by each individual.
Ticket holders will be able to get the designated party site and get a complimentary NDP pack.
Co-chairman of the NDP 2024 heartland events council and Pow Choon Ghee, PA party chairman, said:” PA and our community organizations hope that by bringing the activities closer to residents, we can develop a sense of cohesion and instill a sense of national pride.
” We have curated many interactive activities with a regional twist, there are initiatives, and hands-on sessions to engage Singaporeans of all ages across five heartland areas, each with its own unique design”.
Colonel Edwin Chua, co-chairman of the NDP 2024 homeland events commission, added:” We want all Singapore to be able to enjoy NDP favourites such as the lights, get images with cars from the SAF, SPF and SCDF, and enjoy the shows and showcases”.
