Former federal spokesperson denies that Palang Pracharath is a “background” group.
Narumon Pinyosinwat, a former key member of the Palang Pracharath Party ( PPRP ), has denied that the little-known Kla Dharma Party, which has elected her as its new leader, is a branch of PPRP.
At the group legislature on Tuesday, Chawengsak Jaidam was chosen as Ms. Narumon.
Kla Dharma ( Dharma Courage ) has grown out of the ashes of the Setthakij Thai Party, the registration of which was linked to Palang Pracharath.
After a failed attempt to mobilize no-confidence seats against Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha while he was prime minister, Setthakij Thai was established to provide PPRP secretary-general Thamanat Prompow and other members of his group.
Thamanat and his team eventually moved up to Palang Pracharath, which is also part of the current coalition state. He is now the secretary of agriculture.
The council took place at a hotel in Bangkok with more than 250 Kla Dharma individuals present. The lot voted to place Ms Narumon as president, Sajjawit Leelawanij as secretary-general, Alongkorn Promkatkaew as manager and Suppakit Panya as party registration.
The group executive committee comprises Wichai Penpanassak, Kijpob Kanthamit, Theerasak Sitthichaithanakij, Thassachon Boonsaenchai, Kampaeng Thamna, Prasit Naktue and Panatda Kantha.
Ms. Narumon stated to the audience that the group would support the rule of law and the constitutional monarchy, as well as work to boost investor confidence in the economy and foster cooperation with the global community.
The government approved a decision by the Prime Minister’s Office to appoint Ms. Narumon as an assistant who also assumed the position of Thai Trade Representative in October of last year. One quarter after she resigned from the PPRP, she was appointed.
Under the previous Prayut management, Ms. Narumon furthermore served as a deputy labor secretary and state representative.
She claimed that she has been constantly encouraging trade and investment despite having left Palang Pracharath for about a year.
She continued to deny that she had spoken to Thamanat in the past and that Kla Dharma was a back group for PPRP.
She insisted that Kla Dharma’s professionals and people were legally registered and independent and had their own goals.
Additionally, Thamanat added that Kla Dharma was not a supply group affiliated with Palang Pracharath. ” The party ( Kla Dharma ) has nothing to do with PPRP”, he said, adding the two have different ways of conducting political business.
