Following a collapse on Wednesday that left cracks in a medical building in the southern state of Nakhon Si Thammarat, two tremors were found earlier yesterday in Nan, north province.
At 4.04 am and 4.52 am, earthquakes of the Meteorological Department’s Earthquake Observation Division reported two earthquakes in Nan measuring 1.7 and 1.5 Richter scales.
Both incidents occurred in the Wiang Sa city of tambon Yap Hua Na, which was reported by local authorities one kilometer underground.
The spasms came on Wednesday in tambon Saira in the Chawang area, Nakhon Si Thammarat, following a 3.0-magnitude disaster.
The department said the earthquake, which was also one kilometer serious, struck at 5.31 am and was felt in the Chawang and Phipun districts.
As a caution, Chawang Crown Prince Hospital was canceled.
Eventually, officials from the hospital’s public works department discovered that some of its structural components had experienced cracks from the disaster, but they later confirmed that the hospital’s structure was secure.
Although Kathun and Klong Din Daeng dams in Phipun remained alive despite damage to groundwater wells in several locations, the damage was even negated.
