Myanmar returns more than 100 Chinese scam centre workers

Bangkok: On Saturday ( Feb. 22 ), Myanmar issued the third batch of a major crackdown on the illegal operations, which will repatriate more than 100 Chinese scam center workers through Thailand.

Over the upcoming weeks, lots of foreigners are expected to return from Myanmar’s scam-related residences, with the first two batches now arriving on Thursday and Friday.

Many of the people who claim they were trafficked and forced to deceive people around the world in long online scams say they are run by legal gangs and employ foreigners.

A second group of 111 Taiwanese citizens was handed over on Saturday via the Thailand-Myanmar Friendship Bridge 2 at the Thai border village of Mae Sot, according to a statement from Myanmar’s dictatorship.
