Yangon: According to state media reports released on Friday( Nov 3,) the government will retaliate against ethnic armed groups that are waging an offensive in the country’s north, seizing cities and obstructing trade routes to China.
Analysts claim that the junta is facing its biggest military problem since seizing power in 2021 as fighting has raged for a month across much of Shan condition.
On Thursday, the Ta ‘ ang National Liberation Army( TNLA ), the Arakan Army, and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army announced their capture of numerous outposts and four towns as well as the obstruction of crucial trade routes to China.
In a statement to members of the State Administration Council, as the dictatorship refers to itself, Min Aung Hlaing stated that” the state will start counter-attacks” against armed groups.
According to the Global New Light of Myanmar paper, MNDAA and TNLA fighters” attacked regional security camps and administrative offices in the Kokang place” bordering China.
Additionally, he charged the Kachin Independence Army( KIA ), a neighboring ethnic armed group, with attacking” transport facilities” and military installations and threatened military retaliation.
