After 40, 000 kg of salt-fermented crab were discovered on board, a Myanmar fishing ship was found on its side and six crew members were detained for smuggling in this southern state.

After being informed that a warship was sneaking fish goods into the country, the Thailand Maritime Enforcement Command Center Region 3 reported on Saturday, officials from the navy led authorities to the Waithong pier in the tambon Pak Nam of Ranong at 9 p.m.

Six crew members and a Myanmar vehicle were found moored at the wharf. It was unable to import fish materials into the nation.

A research found 2, 000 baskets, each containing 20kg of spiced crab.

The crew members were taken to the Pak Nam police place for legal actions.

Two weeks prior to the incident, a Myanmar police vessel fired on 15 fishing boats in waters off the Ranong beach. Four Thai fishing are still being held in Kawthaung, same Ranong.

On Thursday, Maris Sangiampongsa, the foreign affairs minister, will travel to Myanmar to discuss their release.
