BEIJING: Myanmar’s ambassador to China passed away suddenly on Sunday (Aug 7) in the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming, according to a good obituary in Myanmar state media plus diplomatic sources in Beijing.
The obituary pertaining to Ambassador U Myo Thant Pe simply by Myanmar’s foreign ministry in a state paper on Monday failed to specify his reason for death.
Diplomats in Beijing along with a Chinese language Myanmar media report said the main cause was likely to be cardiovascular attack.
Oughout Myo Thant Pe was last seen on Saturday conference a local official in the southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan which usually borders Myanmar, according to a local news review.
The Myanmar embassy in Tiongkok did not immediately react to a query designed for comment.
Oughout Myo Thant Pe was appointed ambassador to China at the end of 2019 and remained in his post right after Myanmar’s military got power in a hen house in February 2021.
