The Dali lost power hours before it slammed into the gate, sending people and vehicles into the ocean, and the black box was recovered on Wednesday by US national security investigators.
Eight structure workers were reportedly fixing holes on the bridge when it collapsed, according to US authorities. Firefighters pulled two people out of the water dead, but six others are believed to have perished.
MPA said it is “deeply saddened” by the incident, adding that “our ideas are with the affected communities during this very tough time”.
The expert said it is working with Dali’s management firm, Synergy Marine, to accomplish data exchange to help the US Coast Guard in its analysis.
” MPA has also requested the vessel’s classification society, ClassNK, to prepare the technical analysis and security estimates, which are important variables to support the US Coast Guard in the planning and subsequent safe implementation of the vehicle rescue functions”, it added.
Classification cultures are individuals who create and apply technical requirements for the design and development of boats.
Flag governments hire them to perform checks on board ships and monitor their compliance with technological standards and rules.
