Muhammad Syed convicted of ambush-style shooting in New Mexico

In the state of New Mexico, an Afghan refugee was found guilty of murder in one of three deadly ambush-style murders committed by Muslim men in the country two years prior.

Aftab Hussein, 41, was killed on July 26, 2022, by Muhammad Syed, who faces life in prison. The various two deaths, which he is accused of, are still on trial.

Within a few weeks, the three survivors were all discovered gunned down in Albuquerque.

The killings caused widespread concern within the state’s Muslim community.

When Mian picture Mr. Hussein from behind some bushes, the trial was told that Syed had an AK-47 type rifle in hand.

Lawyers said the victim’s figure was “destroyed” by 11 access wounds, reports the Albuquerque Journal.

Mobile phone data from the test revealed that Syed was present in the location at the time of the shooting.

A ballistics pro claimed that the weapons found beneath Syed’s bed was comparable to that found in casings and projectiles recovered from the scene.

There is no evidence that Syed had really pulled the trigger, according to defense lawyers. They stated that they would allure after the other two studies.

The defense called no witnesses, and Syed did never speak.

At the conclusion of the trial, the prosecution acknowledged that Syed’s motives are still ambiguous.

There was no proof that he had ever had a relationship with Aftab Hussein prior to the killing.

As far as we can tell, this might be a situation of a serial killer where there is a goal that they have, not something we can truly understand, said Deputy District Attorney David Waymire in a statement released on Monday.

Syed is even accused of killing Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, 27, in a generate- by shooting on 1 August 2022.

He may have trial, also, for the death of Naeem Hussain, 25, who was shot inside his car on 5 August.

Before he himself was targeted, Mr. Hussain had only just become a member of the US and had only attended a funeral for two of the other killing patients.

Syed was arrested on 9 August, two weeks after authorities distributed a picture of his car.
