The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration ( BMA ) has requested permission to use the areas in which the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand ( MRTA ) will construct the Orange Line’s western route, which will connect Bang Khun Non and Min Buri.
Tawatchai Napasaksri, chairman of the BMA’s Public Works Department, said on Wednesday the MRTA, the concessionaire and contractor, discussed the way information of the Orange Line MRT job with the office on Monday.
The path will begin on Sutthawat Road and travel along Siriraj Road until it crosses the Chao Phraya River, according to the details.
The route will then cross Ratchadamnoen Road to meet the Orange Line’s northeast terminus at Esplanade Cineplex Ratchadapisek. The main focus of the underground structure will be on the sidewalks and roads.
The job will have an impact on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road’s forest area and Din Daeng’s area outside City Hall II, where some trees will need to be removed before pedestrian overpasses can be repositioned.
Before a joint meeting to finalize the land move for construction, Mr. Tawatchai said the MRTA may also meet with the traffic and transportation departments, the drainage department, and the atmosphere department to discuss the details. According to the MRTA’s letter, a memorandum of understanding ( MoU) will be signed to transfer the land in 120 days.
The concessionaire and architects are required to keep the design sites and minimize the project’s five-year obligations to residents. Upon execution, they may recover roads and streets to their original state. The MRTA must check the drainage systems to stop flooding, and trees that have been removed may be planted in the same locations.
