Mountain B fire death toll reaches 21

19 people nevertheless in hospitals over three weeks right after tragedy in Chon Buri

Another patient significantly injured in the fire at the Mountain W pub in Chon Buri died on Saturday, bringing the total number of deaths in order to 21.

The Chon Buri public relations office stated the man died on Lerdsin Hospital in Bangkok. Nineteen others are still in private hospitals in Chon Buri, Rayong, Pathum Thani and Bangkok, with seven of them reliant on ventilators.

The fire started at the pub in Sattahip area of Chon Buri in the early hrs of Aug 5, killing 13 on the scene as they were not able to escape and trapped by the blaze that ripped through the location.

The pub was operating without a proper enable, had a blocked get out of and had undergone substantial modifications that involved the use of highly inflammable soundproofing materials.

Somyos Panprasong, 55, the owner from the pub , continues to be charged with rashness, irresponsibility, causing deaths and injuries, and starting and operating a good entertainment venue without having permission.
