
A 27-year-old college student who climbed Mount Fuji outside of its authorized walking time was saved half in four weeks after returning to look for his cell phone.
The Chinese student, who lives in Japan, was first rescued by helicopter on Tuesday while hiking the Fujinomiya trail, which is located at 3, 000m (9, 800ft ) above sea level.
He was unable to drop the trail because he misplaced his cleats, a rose device that provides better traction to climbing shoes ‘ bottoms.
However, he later went back to the hill to get his phone and other items he had left behind. He has level illness, but he is now out of danger. He was recently rescued on Saturday.
People are stymied from climbing Mount Fuji outside of the national climbing season, which begins in July and ends in September due to the harsh circumstances.
The culture ministry says the trail network leading to Mount Fuji’s conference is currently closed.
Police in Shizuoka prefecture reiterated their guidance against climbing the mountain during the off-season because the weather was immediately change, making it difficult for rescuers to react. Additionally, the health infrastructure along the roads are closed.
Some X customers wrote insensitive comments about the person who should be made to pay for both rescue operations while disobeying the security advice against climbing at the time.
The 3, 776m ( 12, 388ft ) tall Mount Fuji is one of Japan’s most well-known attractions, and authorities have recently increased climbing fees in response to overtourism. It is renowned all over the world for its flawless cone shape.
Between July and September, more than 220, 000 persons climbed Mount Fuji in 2023.
