Most people worried about monkeypox: Poll

Most people are concerned by the discoveries associated with monkeypox cases within Thailand and most of these already have some understanding and understanding of herpes, according to survey simply by Suan Dusit Rajabhat University, or Suan Dusit Poll.

The poll was conducted on the web on 1, 095 people throughout the nation from Aug 5-11.

Requested whether they were worried by the discoveries of monkeypox cases in Thailand, 54, 34% were fairly concerned; 27. 21% not quite concerned; 14. 16% much concerned; plus 4. 29% not concerned at all.

Most of the respondents, 66. 76%, said they had some information and understanding regarding monkeypox and five. 30% had complete knowledge of it. On the other side, 24. 29% understood very little about it plus 3. 65% understood nothing about it.

Asked which usually source of information about monkeypox was most reliable for them, 37. 17% described the Ministry associated with Public Health; sixteen. 44% the Department of Medical Services; 14. 25% social networking including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; and 9. 22% popular media such as television, radio and newspapers.

Asked which between Covid-19 and monkeypox they were more concerned about, 41. 19% were equally concerned about the two diseases; 29. 32% more concerned about monkeypox; 24. 38% a lot more concerned about Covid-19; plus 5. 11% not really concerned by any one of them.

Asked whether they believed the government would be able to handle monkeypox, 46. 58% said “yes”; twenty nine. 22% said “no”; and 24. 20% were uncertain.

Asked what they wanted the government to carry out to cope with monkeypox, with each respondent permitted to give more than one solution, 81. 55% needed the government to keep serving people with correct details; 60. 82% said people should be advised how to protect on their own from the disease; fifty nine. 36% said the government must disclose information about the disease with no concealment; 58. 45% said strict procedures must be taken to display screen and quarantine high-risk people from abroad; and 56. 16% moneykeypox vaccine must be made available.
