More than 1,200 stations fail transparency test

According to the National Anti-Corruption Commission( NACC ), more than 1,200 police stations across the country fell short of transparency requirements.

The NACC’s chairman, Pol Gen Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit, made the announcement yesterday to present the findings of its integrity and transparency assessment( ITA ) of government services that directly serve citizens, such as police stations and district offices across the country.

A maximum score of 85 is required for each bureau to complete, while a maximum of 95 and above is regarded as excellent. A below-par average rating of 67.43 was received by police stations across the country. The report indicates that the policeman force needs to make immediate improvements, he said.

The NACC polled 942, 127 people, including 111,305 law officials from all over the nation. It was discovered that only 208 police stations, or 14 % of the 1, 484 stations in the country, met the requirements, while 84 % or 1, 276 stations fell short.

The highest report was obtained by Yannawa Police Station in Bangkok, with zero points going to Na Pradu, Mae Lan, and Pak Ro police facilities in Pattani and Songkhla, respectively.

The poll was administered to 76, 780 people for city offices in Bangkok. Phasi Charoen District Office received the highest rating of 99.09 out of 49 practices that passed the test. The lowest earning was at Phra Nakhon District Office, at 84.28.

The survey was conducted in the other 76 provinces with 831, 513 participants, and 85.99 %, or 755 district offices, passed, while only 123 districts or 14.01 % failed.
