KHON KAEN: A friar was defrocked after a car accident led to the conviction that he had used a dating software to meet another priest and had been abusing drugs.
After discovering that he used his human image in his dating app account, Phra Khru Wisutthi Theerakhun, assistant religious chief of Khon Kaen, announced on Wednesday evening that he had ordered a 32-year-old monk to be defrocked.
The friar allegedly organized a meeting with a hotel guest from Nakhon Phanom state using the app.
On Tuesday, both were traveling in a Toyota Fortuner that hit a roadblock and collided in front of Khon Kaen Hospital in Muang city.
According to Phra Khru Wisutthi, drugs were discovered in the wizard’s place and the vehicle at the temple.
