MOE said through Mobile Guardian’s studies, it found that there had been a “global security event” involving illegal exposure to its app, which affected consumers, including those in Singapore.
According to preliminary investigations, the thief electronically wiped the tools of about 13, 000 individuals from 26 extra schools in Singapore.
The hacker’s access to customer files is not already proven, according to the ministry.  ,
” As a precautionary measure, MOE may reduce the Mobile Guardian Device Management Application from all tablets and Chromebooks”, said MOE.
” These products are being made to function normally without risk.” To control device usage while promoting learning during this time, MOE is thinking about taking another mitigating measures.
Due to a human problem in Mobile Guardian’s design, students had earlier technical issues that Sunday did not have to deal with.
According to MOE,” we know that kids are normally troubled and concerned about the incident.”
” MOE is working with schools to support the individuals who have been affected,” adding that extra IT roving team will be sent to schools and will provide more learning resources.
Following a similar event in April, when 127 school administrators and parents were able to access their personal information through Mobile Guardian due to a security breach, this event follows.
