MOE staff, operations to be consolidated in Buona Vista

The Ministry of Education ( MOE ) will begin building a new building on North Buona Vista Drive in 2025, with the move allowing it to consolidate its headquarters staff at a single location.

This combination will free up space for various purposes in various areas of Singapore.

The new 30-storey building, to be named the Goh Keng Swee Centre for Education ( GKSCE), will bring together staff from the ministry’s headquarters offices in Balestier, Grange Road and Ghim Moh, &nbsp, MOE said&nbsp, in a media release on Tuesday ( Oct 22 ).

The Singapore Center for Chinese Language, the Academy of Singapore Teachers, and the School Cluster Centre are even located at the GKSCE. &nbsp, It will be able to handle about 2, 000 people, added MOE.

Additionally, the building may house in-service teachers in the form of training.

Also, the tower, named after the late Dr Goh Keng Swee, may be home to the MOE Heritage Centre, which is already located at the commission’s Balestier business.

The traditions center may display both Dr. Goh’s legacy and contributions to education as well as the history of Singapore’s educational program. Between 1979 and 1984, Dr. Goh held the position of education minister half.

In 2029, the novel structure is expected to be operational.

It will hold a page area of about 5, 000 sq m and have an estimated total floor area of 65, 000 sq m. &nbsp, It will be built with green features, such as thermal panels and a district cooling system.

The appropriate agencies are now studying the plans for the websites that will be vacated once the building is finished, according to MOE. Further details about these plans may be made available at a later time, according to the government.
