Proceed to benefit vacation travellers
The Transport Ministry has mandated that all development projects along Rama II Road be stopped from December 26 through January 2 to make it easier to get around during the New Year’s Day.
Suriya Jungrungreangkit, the secretary of transportation, stated on Thursday that the eight-day order is primarily aimed at those who want to use the path to the south.
” We likewise ordered the transfer of the road surface, as much as possible, to help people using the route”, he said. We also want people to research the road ahead of time so that there is no traffic jam during the New Year’s Eve holiday.
Following the most recent hoist collision on Rama II Road in Samut Sakhon, the order was given. The tragedy, which occurred at about 4am on Nov 29 at the site of the elevated Ekkachai-Ban Phaeo Intercity Motorway 82 ( M82 ) project, claimed the lives of six workers and injured nine others.
Mr. Suriya said he has instructed ministry organizations to collaborate with the Ministry of Finance to assess the performance of construction contractors as soon as possible and keep track of them in a” Contractor’s Notebook” together. These include the Department of Highways ( DoH), the Department of Rural Roads ( DoH), the Department of Rural Roads ( DoH), the Expressway Authority of Thailand ( MAT ), and the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand.
Results can be deducted based on performance, he said, adding that if a company fails to meet health needs, the government can immediately delete its title from the president’s registration.
” In the next two months, the rules of the Contractor’s Laptop will be summarised”, he said. Before enforcing it, we may even talk more with the Finance Ministry’s Comptroller General’s Department.
Regarding an upgrade on the M82 decline, Apirat Chaiwongnoi, the DoH director-general, said the ministry has appointed a fact-finding council and invited representatives from the Engineering Institute of Thailand and the Council of Engineers to meet the commission.
Around the middle of this quarter, he said, the results of the investigation may be made public.
The architectural team has now carefully removed the three material bridge segments and will demolish the steel structure as a result of the most recent progress being made with the removal of the steel and concrete structure components. Around the middle of this quarter, all remaining components are anticipated to be finished.
In related information, the Ministry of Transport anticipates that many people will use private vehicles to celebrate the New Year’s Eve, bringing in 16 million more visits from Bangkok than the previous year.
As for travel by public transport, the government expects that there will be a full of 17 million visits with people travelling by bus, train, boat and planes.
Travel between provinces will be 2.3 million trips, while travel within Bangkok and its environs will be 1.8 million trips, and travel abroad will be 1.8 million trips.
