According to Deputy Prime Minister’s Office representative Kenika Ounjit, Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai has been given the task of overseeing the Ministry of Defence.

Additionally, Mr. Phumtham, who serves as Commerce Minister, has been given the authority to oversee the function of the Ministries of Agriculture and Digital Economy and Society.

According to Ms. Kenika, his responsibilities as deputy prime minister also include the Office of the Permanent Secretary, the PRD, and the ONCB, the prime minister’s office.

Ms. Kenika said that the other five assistant prime ministers have all been given the task of running some departments and offices.

Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira, for instance, may handle the Finance Ministry, the Foreign Affairs Ministry, and the National Office of Buddhism.

Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit may handle his government, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, the Hospitality and Sports Ministry, the Culture Ministry, and the Public Health Ministry.

The labor and education ministers will be under the control of Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security’s activities will also be under the control of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pol Gen Phatcharavat Wongsuwan.

With the exception of the Department of Special Investigation, the Industry Ministry, the Office of the Council of State, and Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga will be in charge of the Justice Ministry’s job.

In the event that the top takes a vacation or is not present, the premier designates Mr. Phumtham to be the first one to take over managerial responsibilities.

The next in line may be Mr Suriya, followed by Mr Pichai, Mr Anutin, Pol Gen Patcharawat, and Mr Pirapan, said assistant state representative Rudklao Suwankiri.

People will trust the new government, according to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, as long as the government is able to fulfill its promises. He claimed that some problems take time to succeed.

When asked if each minister did receive “key performance signals” (KPIs ), Mr. Srettha responded that the government would discuss them.

Additionally, Mr. Srettha claimed that he had given Mr. Pichai instructions on how to create a world economic hub for Thailand.
