Thai and Myanmar armed forces have agreed to work together to combat drug trafficking along the border.
Gen Chalermpol Srisawat, chief of the defence forces, and Myanmar military leader Snr Gen Min Aung Hlaing yesterday co-chaired the 8th meeting of the Thai-Myanmar High-Level Committee in Rakhine State, which ends today.
The meeting is part of the mechanisms set up to promote military ties between the two countries, maintain peace and address security issues along the borders.
The two sides also reportedly reaffirmed their commitment to send refugees fleeing fighting in Myanmar back home, as well as survey and demarcate borders, among other matters.
