Military man threatens motorist with pistol in 'road rage incident'

In what is thought to be a case of road rage, a team representative carrying a handgun approached a driver and the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters opened an investigation.

Lt Gen Theerapong Patamasing na Ayutthaya, official for Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, said on Sunday that the officers had confirmed that the person seen in a video tape carrying a pistol&nbsp, was one of its employees.

The uniformed military man approached a delivery truck driver to talk about his driving in front of a burden square and carried a handgun in its situation.

The vehicle drivers used his mobile phone to record the event. The defense officer returned to his car afterward. The truck drivers informed the military gentleman that the latter was a federal employee and that they would exchange information soon.

The military person then closed his pilot’s door and the picture ended. The video was posted on Instagram on Friday.

Lt. Gen. Theerapong claimed that Gen. Songwit Noonpakdi, the head of the defense troops, was informed of the incident and gave an order to prosecute him and conduct an investigation before imposing disciplinary measures.

The investigation would also look into the propriety of a gun’s hands and public look. According to the official, the investigation may be finished and the findings may be communicated to the defense forces deputy in 48 hours.

The investigation may be good and fast, he said.
