Mr Kannan joined the AGC in 1995 and was involved in high-profile cases like the continuing prosecution of Lim Oon Kuin, the founder of collapsed oil trading firm Hin Leong Investing.
This year, he acted in the case associated with Andrew Gosling , who threw the glass bottle that killed an elderly man in what had been described as an behave of “religious hostility”.
