” Before Sweet Monster came to Singapore, this was the only business where you could move in and not feel like it’s you’re in a conventional optical store”, added Shamus.

There are now three O boutiques in Singapore, located at OUE Downtown Gallery, Mandarin Gallery and The Star Vista. The boutique has a modern, minimalist design at the Star Vista premier store, where this interview and photo shoot took place. Products are displayed on beautifully curved walls, which allow customers to try on the frames in semi-private areas.

Despite not having any formal style training, Shamus, who studied architecture and algebra, is responsible for designing every single one of the company’s items. Bestsellers include the Quinton body, with its boxy design, and the Jin body, featuring a triangular and angular style.
