Massive quake kills nearly 150 in Myanmar, Thailand

AFP reporters witnessed firefighters attempting to rescue a mother and son from the rubble of a crashed building in Naypyidaw as the day fell.

Both of them had serious injuries, but firefighters were unable to achieve them, according to a Red Cross worker who spoke to AFP.

COLLAPSE FOR Tower

A 30-storey tower under construction across the border in Thailand quickly fell to a entangled heap of dust and debris.

Three workers have been confirmed dead, according to officials, and dozens more are also missing, many of whom are thought to be trapped in the dust.

” I heard people asking for assistance and saying,” Help me,” Bang Sue city deputy police chief Worapat Sukthai told AFP.

He said,” We believe there are hundreds of injuries.”

Around 100 save workers gathered at the picture to search for victims, illuminated by specifically constructed floodlights, as the day fell.
