Man took own life in house after killing police officer in hours of siege

A authorities lieutenant colonel who attempted bargaining at a house in the Bang Bon city of Bangkok, who was mentally ill, shot himself, killing him early on Sunday morning.

After being informed that a deranged gunman had held family members prisoner it, police arrived in a three-story building in the DK Rama 2 cover house on Saturday night at 9:45pm.

When Pol Lt Col Kittichon Janyarom, 59, and his team walked into the tower to negotiate, he was shot three days in his chest and hands. He was pronounced deceased at Mali Hospital later. His superior, a officers senior sergeant big, was slightly injured.

Police removed four household members, including a girl whose face was slapped with a firearm, from the home following the shooting.

The girl claimed that her father had four firearms, including ammunition and a shotgun.

A recovery worker claimed that last month, at the demand of local police, the man had threatened to harm rescue workers there.

Police officers negotiated with the person using a loudspeaker immediately, and shots were occasionally audible from the inside. Around 2.40 am on Sunday, the home was shot before it was finished.

At about 5.40am commandoes entered the building and found the man, 49, dying on a mezzanine.
