Man suspected of starting fire at Admiralty Link void deck that burnt bicycles, PMAs arrested

A 41-year-old man has been detained after allegedly setting a fire to the void deck of a residential block at Admirality Link, according to the police on Saturday ( Aug 17 ).

In the fire, eight bicycles and three Personal Mobility Aids ( PMAs ) were burned. Around 2.10 a.m. on August 15th, the authorities received an alert about the event.

Follow-up investigations and police surveillance images led to the arrest of the suspect on August 16 and his identity was determined.

As situation exhibits, a lighter and a carton of fire starters that were allegedly used to commit the crime were taken.

On August 17, the man may be charged with evil by fire with the intent to harm. If found guilty, he may become jailed for up to seven times and be fined. &nbsp,

The officers added that they do not tolerate acts that seriously harm the health or the lives of others and will never hesitate to take legal action against those who flagrantly break the law.
