Despite the dangers posed by the Gaza issue, a Thai employer postponed his scheduled return to Thailand in order to receive one final salary payment.
After three months of working as a tomatoes collector only seven kilometers from the Gaza Strip, Charnchai Chidkhoksung, 31, of the Muang Nakhon Ratchasima area, was eventually reunited with his family on Sunday night.
Since the first day of the fight on October 7, when he and his partner were working at the land and heard a siren before his employer told his team to go to safety, they had seen the Hamas attacks.
Mr. Charnchai spent hours inside the house listening to the sounds of bombs and guns. As his wife and two children, one of whom was eight and the other five, were waiting for him at house in Thailand, he was even horrified to learn that some had died in the shooting.
He was eager to join as soon as he learned about the administration’s plan to return Thai employees.
He made the decision to postpone his return, claiming that he had never received his final salary payment of 70, 000 rmb, which was supposed to be due on October 12.
” My aunt has given me a loan for about 100,000 ringgit to cover my travel expenses. She told me to return back whenever she felt like it, so fortunately she didn’t mention any attention, said Mr. Charnchai.
After receiving his final payment, he decided to temporarily job at his family’s restaurant in his home before looking for a new career and finally registered his relocation with the government.
When asked about going back to Israel, Mr. Charnchai replied,” My profits are much less in Thailand, but I will never go up.”
506 Thai immigrants, including Mr. Charnchai, six women, and 300 men, boarded three flights on Sunday to return to their homeland.
Nine of them were discovered to have breathing issues during health screening, according to the Public Health Ministry.
39 people were identified as traumatized during their initial internal examination, 37 at modest levels, and one at high and extreme levels.
The internal screening has revealed that more than 10 % of the 3,150 returnees have experienced mental trauma.
