TRAT: As the eastern province’s center was hit strongly by stormwater on Sunday, a man was saved by a combination of wayside plants and good locals.
At around 1.30pm, when run-off flowing past the group had quickly increased from 30 to 100 centimeters large, physician Amnuay Roek-amnuaychoke had only crossed a bridge over the waterway , on Soi Moo Ban Krung Thai street in Ban Nong Bua of tambon Wang Krajae in Muang area.
Local residents and soldiers who were distributing supplies to disaster victims managed to use a little rope to secure the vehicle. A bigger cord was brought in to the vehicles on one end and a pole on the other ten minutes later. The physician was then escorted by angry men to higher ground on Sukhumvit Road, where the car and the dentist were in.
Mr. Amnuay claimed he was able to safely drive through floodwater to his home in the Moo Ban Krung Thai housing estate in the day and that he was anticipating doing it again in the day.
However, the run-off was much deeper by then and its recent washed his vehicle to the roads, he said. The physician thanked all who came rescue him in kind.
Lots evacuated
Citizens of dozens of tambon Wang Krajae homes were also moving their possessions from their flooded homes at the same time. Numerous cars were sprayed all over the buildings and homes. Universities were 20-60cm under waters in Muang area.
The flood was brought on by serious flows from the Si Siad tank in Muang district. The reservoir’s rapid discharges were needed, according to irrigation authorities because the water had overstayed its safe level as a result of heavy rains over the previous two days.
Parts of the Trat Sukhumvit Road between the Muang and Khao Saming towns were also affected by the run-off.
