SINGAPORE: A Malaysian man betrayed their mutual respect by downloading ghoulish videos of two of his feminine friends, including his sister’s girlfriend, while they were both undergraduates and later shared a level in Singapore.
The 27-year-old permanent resident of Malaysia and Singapore, who cannot be identified to protect the identities of the victims, was given a 45-week prison term on Thursday ( Dec 7 ).
He admitted guilt to two matters of pornography and considered a second charge.
The offender was identified by the court as belonging to a group of four friends, which included two women, one 26-year-old and her fiance of 26 years old, as well as the victim.
They shared a Singapore apartment after getting to know one another as freshmen.
The 27-year-old lady who was the first victim was also the defendant’s coworker.
The perpetrator started making upskirt films of the first target in their shared apartment sometime in early 2021.
He therefore started recording her in their business as well.
He recorded her in the apartment and the business a total of 20 times.
The criminal started filming upskirt videos of the other adult victim in the apartment somewhere in 2022. At least nine times, he did this.
He also started recording the second victim’s face as she showered in the master room.
When the survivor went back home on the previous situation, he was house alone. Following their conversation, the victim went to take a bath.
With the intention of recording the target, the offender extended his handphone into the washroom windows.
She yelled when she saw him. The victim after called her sweetheart and explained what had happened after the perpetrator withdrew his hand.
The perpetrator apologized to the target while fabricating that he had heard water in the toilet and was curious about who was within.
He thought he had cleared everything out after deleting the sensual stuff from his telephone and Google Drive accounts.
CONFRONTED OFFENDER VICTIM’S Partner
The victim’s partner confronted the criminal when he returned to the shared apartment.
The criminal acknowledged that he was the one responsible but lied about wanting to extend his handphone into the washroom windows,  , and claimed to be confused if anyone else was in the apartment and wanted to make a recording to find out.
When the victim’s boyfriend checked the offender on his phone, he discovered some ghoulish videos and screenshots of some of them that the perpetrator had failed to delete.
On November 24, 2022, at around 3 a.m., he confronted the perpetrator and went to the police station with them to review the crime.
The defendant’s attorney requested the shortest possible word, claiming that his client was regretful and wanted to enter a guilty plea right away.
He claimed that his customer had entirely cooperated and had voluntarily turned himself in to the police.
He even apologized to the patients and made an effort to get help for himself by going to counseling sessions at two centers.
The attorney stated that” One advisor, a priest, is present in court today to give him the help.”
Voyageurism is punishable by up to two years in prison, a good, punishment, or any combination of these penalties.
