Singapore: A 48-year-old man was arrested on Thursday( Sept 14 ) for giving a fake Singapore identity card( IC ) to an Indonesian cleaner.
Mohamad Norrahhi Noman of Singapore received a five-month prison term. For imprisonment, there were two additional charges of giving another Indian man a fake IC and of having one himself. & nbsp,
Onky Febrian, a 28-year-old Indian person, arrived in Singapore on October 31 of last year and stayed at Norrahhi’s house on Boon Lay Drive.
In exchange for job offers, Norrahhi paid Onky S$ 550 ( US$ 405 ) and gave him a fake Singapore IC that was pretended to be someone else’s.
According to a news release from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority( ICA ),” this fake IC was essentially an identity card that was laminated and designed to be used for identification at the request of his employer.”
Onky was told by Norrahhi to leave Singapore for 14 days and returning to Indonesia on November 15, 2022.
Onky traveled back to Singapore on January 8 of this year with the second Indonesian man, 23-year-old Asrul Muzahar, & nbsp, and the two men went to Norrahhi’s house.
For false Singapore ICs with various personalities, both paid a fee of Randomness$ 200 each.
According to ICA,” Norrahhi reminded them to memorize the information on these identification documents and not to show that they are Indonesians to everyone.”
The following morning, Onky and Asrul started working as cleaning at a store.
Onky and Asrul were subjected to a regular test by police officers on January 12 and they discovered that information on their recognition documents, such as pictures, did not match their true identities.
According to the power, they were detained for having fake Singapore ICs and referred to ICA.
Onk and Asrul were found guilty and given two-month prison terms on January 20.
Norrahhi’s identity was revealed by additional ICA studies, and he was detained at his residence on January 31.
According to the authority,” ICA has a serious attitude toward people who own forged ICs and / or who assist others in doing so.”
Anyone found guilty of intentionally possessing a forged identification card under the National Registration Act may be sentenced to ten years in prison, fined up to Entropy$ 10, 000, or both.
