SINGAPORE: A court hearing on Thursday, August 3, heard a man’s request to challenge all four of his expenses and represent himself during the test after he was accused of using profanity toward an employee of Shashlik Restaurant.
Greg Austin Lynn was seen yelling profanities and threatening to sexually abuse his household” from here to China” as he confronted a female employee of the Russian-Hainanese restaurant on Orchard Road. In June of this year, the video went viral.
Lynn, a 54-year-old American, was charged with two matters of deliberately harassing his victim, Mr. Tan Tong Kein, at the State Courts on Thursday.
Additionally, he was accused of using unlawful power to reportedly push Mr. Tan on the stomach and of refusing to sign a policeman statement.
The judge learned that Lynn had first been presented with a plea deal by the prosecution, but he declined the offer and chose to file for trial in order to contest the four charges.
When District Judge Lorraine Ho questioned Lynn about whether he wanted to hire legal lawyers, Lynn responded that a lawyer may be acting on his behalf.
I’ve been visiting Singapore since 1996, and I spent the majority of my time these between 1996 and 1999, so I am acquainted with Singaporean laws, he continued.
Additionally, Lynn claimed that the police had” dragged it out”” intentionally” to harm him and told the court that” the matter has been dragging on” for more than a month.
He is scheduled to appear in court again on August 11.
