Man arrested over alleged attack in Serangoon involving pair of scissors

SINGAPORE: A 21-year-old man was imprisoned on Wednesday (Aug 3) after he allegedly attacked one more man with a set of scissors, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) stated.

Police responded to the supposed case of assault at Serangoon Avenue 4  at about 7. 29pm on Wednesday.

A 20-year-old man suffered multiple injuries as a result of the particular incident and was taken to hospital in the conscious state.

The suspected attacker had fled the particular scene in an automobile with a 21-year-old woman before police showed up, however , his identification was established rapidly with the help of images through police cameras.

Through ground enquiries, officers from SPF’s Ang Mo Kio Division found the car abandoned at a multi-storey car park at Northshore Drive in Punggol.

“A search for the couple inside the vicinity was installed together with officers in the K-9 unit from the Special Operations Command word, ” SPF said in a news release.

“The couple was eventually spotted hiding at the back of a van which was parked together Punggol 17th Avenue. ”

The suspect was arrested within five hrs of the alleged strike taking place.

The girl accompanying him seemed to be found to have experienced multiple injuries, and was taken to hospital in a conscious state.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the two victims are known to each other, ” SPF said.

“The suspect is also recognized to the 21-year-old women and the assault apparently arose from a past incident of dispute.

“Further investigations revealed that the suspect had used a couple of scissors in both attacks. ”

Each victims are in a well balanced condition, police added.

The suspect will be charged within court on Thursday night for voluntarily leading to hurt by a harmful weapon.

Those convicted of the offence face up to seven years in prison, a fine, caning, or a combination of such punishments.

“The police can spare no hard work to track down those who dedicate such brazen works and will take firm action against all of them in accordance with the law, ” SPF said.
