Man arrested in Mae Sot after firing gun in town centre

Gunman was taken into custody and hurt in returning fire; no additional injuries were reported.

A person was apprehended on Tuesday after constantly shooting a long-barreled handgun in the Tak province’s Mae Sot city.

According to the government’s Public Relations Department, the 43-year-old man was only identified as Anuphan when authorities detained him, took his changed rifle, and took him to Mae Sot Hospital for health evaluations.

According to other media reports, officers will eventually problem the suspect at the Mae Sot authorities station, with charges possible ranging from weapons offenses involving firing in public spaces.

Around 8am, Mr. Anuphan arrived in his pickup truck and parked in the city center. He then began firing shots as he fled to a Shell diesel place close to the Mae Sot Municipality company while walking along the streets.

Mae Sot police issued a caution to nearby people, and combined police and military forces attempted to persuade the shooter to turn himself in. The man allegedly opened fire on security personnel inside the gas station and was wounded by gain fire.

Police confirmed that no additional wounds were reported during the event.

The shooter allegedly used a 9mm handgun built into an AR15 shoulder platform, CMMG Banshee MK4 ( ).
