Man arrested for stealing wedding money boxes containing about S,000

A man has been detained after allegedly stealing wedding money boxes worth about S$ 50, 000 ( US$ 37, 000 ) at a wedding reception, according to the police on Tuesday ( Apr 8 ).

Around 12.50 p.m. on Saturday, the officers learned about the robbery at a resort along Beach Road. &nbsp,

A “unknown man” allegedly stole two wedding boxes filled with red boxes and money worth about S$ 50, 000.

On Monday, soldiers from the Northern Police Division discovered the identity of the man and detained him.

S$ 3, 000 in money was recovered and taken by the police.

According to the police, initial investigations revealed that the person had probably planned the robbery of the wedding money boxes and even had altered his look after the reported incident.

On Wednesday, he may face robbery charges in court. He could receive a great and up to three years in prison if found innocent.

The police, according to them, “have zero tolerance for like audacious works and will not hesitate to take legal action against those who flagrantly break the law.”
