According to Pol Capt Paiboon Phorthong, assistant research chief at the Sai Mai stop, officers apprehended Annop Srisueb, alias Sant Or-ngern, soon after he fired seven bullets at Pol Lt Col Banrang Kesaporn on Chalermphong Road. Around 8:30 p.m., the incident was reported to the authorities.

In front of a hair shop, Pol Lt Col Banrang, assistant crime reduction key at the Sai Mai place, was discovered lying in a pool of blood with numerous gunshot wounds. Before rushing him to a doctor, first assistance was provided by the rescue workers, but he succumbed to his wounds.

According to a police research, Pol Lt Col Banrang, 41, had finished his work and was dining at a meal buy when a fight broke out between Mr Annop and a Burmese gentleman, who sought aid from the agent.

Mr. Annop fled after trying to mediate, went back to his bicycle repair purchase, grabbed a 9mm handgun, and fired at Pol Lt. Col. Banrang. He later admitted to shooting the agent and was eventually caught.
