SINGAPORE: A man is accused of killing a three-month-old daughter in Bukit Batok by suffocating her with puffed-up pillows in oblivion.
On Thursday, May 4, Mustaqim Rosli, 31, filed his way again in court. He is accused of killing a child under the age of 14 on one bill.
The Singaporean allegedly placed a bed on top of Nur Misha Syaifa Mustaqim’s face when he was three months old on December 3, 2022, at around 12.50 am.
The alleged crime was committed at a residence in Block 447A, Bukit Batok West Avenue 9.
The infant suffocated as a result and died. The bill plate stated that Mustaqim was a resident of the same home as the infant and frequently spoke with her. How he was related to her was not made clear.
The case was originally scheduled to be heard in the High Court but has since been moved to State Courts, according to court records.
Professionals from the Public Defender’s Office, a recently established practice that is entirely funded by the government and offers criminal defense to some types of accused people who cannot afford legal representation, represent Mustaqim.
Mustaqim may appear in court once more in June.
If found guilty, he might receive a 20-year sentence in prison, been fined, or been caned.
