SINGAPORE: A man is accused of killing a three-month-old girl in Bukit Batok by suffocating her with puffed-up pillows in oblivion.
On Thursday, May 4, Mustaqim Rosli, 31, filed his condition again in court. He is accused of killing a boy under the age of 14 on one bill.
The Singaporean allegedly placed a bed on top of Nur Misha Syaifa Mustaqim’s face when he was three months old on December 3, 2022, at around 12.50 am.
The alleged crime was committed at a residence in Block 447A, Bukit Batok West Avenue 9.
The infant suffocated as a result and passed away. The bill plate stated that Mustaqim shared a home with the infant and frequently interacted with her. It was not made clear how he was related to her.
The case was originally scheduled to be heard in the High Court but has since been moved to State Courts, according to court records.
Professionals from the Public Defender’s Office, a recently established practice that is entirely funded by the government and offers criminal defense to some types of accused people who cannot afford legal representation, represent Mustaqim.
In June, Mustaqim may appear in court once more.
If found guilty, he might receive a 20-year sentence in prison, been fined, or been caned.
