The major national security body of Malaysia will decide whether to construct a proposed border wall along the riverbank between Narathiwat and Thailand. &nbsp,

Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, the house minister of Malaysia, stated on Sunday that the Kelantan State proposal for a roof was still in its early stages. The National Security Council, which is led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, may make the final call, according to Bernama media organization.

He was speaking after the Narathiwat povince, which borders Thailand and the Malay government, announced that it would request permission to create a 100 kilometer wall along the Kolok River.

Kelantan’s plan comes amid growing disappointment among legislators struggling to contain cross-border crime, mainly contraband, along the border with Thailand. &nbsp,

That includes the recent arrest of a lorry driver who is alleged to be attempting to smuggle 13, 000 kilogrammes of 40, 000 ringgit ( 311, 000 baht ) from Malaysia to Narathiwat via an illegal pier on the Kolok River in Kelantan, according to the New Straits Times on Monday. It could be sold in&nbsp, Thailand at a substantial mark-up.

Mr. Saifuddin claimed that the Indonesian government was severe about limiting illegal border crossings. According to the Indonesian news agency, this included the use of gates or windows along the entire border. Drones may also soon be deployed, he said.

Prior to entering the Gulf of Thailand, the Kolok River cuts off the boundary between Narathiwat and Kelantan for approximately 100 kilometers.
