SINGAPORE: Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar made a stop at Singapore’s parliament on Tuesday ( May 7 ) during his first overseas state visit as king of Malaysia.
Sultan Ibrahim observed political trials, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, and was taken on a journey of parliament halls.
Seah Kian Peng, the speaker of parliament, welcomed him and gave a brief target honoring the prince.
According to Mr. Seah, Sultan Ibrahim had a long history of fervent support for unifying Malaysia and Singapore.
Singapore and Johor’s collaboration strengthened during the queen’s tenure as Sultan of Johor, particularly when both flanks worked to keep supply lines across land borders available during the , COVID- 19 epidemic, said the Speaker.
He noted that Singapore and Malaysia will observe the celebration of the Causeway this year and the celebration of their 60-year diplomatic partnership in 2020.
” I’m convinced that His Majesty’s explore now is a prelude to even stronger relations between Singapore and Malaysia”, said Mr Seah.
