PETALING JAYA: With more relaxed travel restrictions, many Malaysians are keen to visit South Korea while South Koreans are also looking forward to visit their favourite places in Malaysia, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
“The favourite destination for Koreans is Kota Kinabalu to play golf, scuba diving and mountain climbing.
“Malaysia and South Korea have a long standing bilateral relationship and we both agreed to foster stronger and deeper cooperation in shared fields,” said the Transport Minister in a Facebook post after meeting South Korea’s Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Won He Ryong at the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) headquarters in Montreal on Sunday (Oct 2).
He said Malaysia and South Korea had experienced the downgrade of the IASA safety rating to Category 2 by the US Federation of Aviation Administration and were successfully reinstated to Category 1 in a short period of time.
“Both countries came out stronger with great capabilities and are able to share our experiences with other member states who are going through similar situation,” added Dr Wee.
