Malaysia widens probe into ‘horror’ care home child abuse

DNA Tests

GISB has long been a source of controversy because of its association with the now-defunct Al-Arqam cult, and it has been investigated by the country’s Muslim-majority government.

Al-Arqam was banned by the authorities in 1994 for deviant teachings, while members of the GISB had in 2011 set up an” Obedient Wives Club” that called on women to be “whores in bed” to stop their husbands from straying.

According to its site, GISB runs firms from stores to restaurants, and operates in many countries including Indonesia, France and the United Kingdom.

Authorities believe that GISB people were the only children who were in the care homes.

” We believe that all 402 babies are fathered by GISB people. That’s our fear at the moment”, officers inspector-general Razarudin Husain told AFP on Thursday.

” We feel that there’s a want for DNA tests to be taken”.

Selangor, a position in Malaysia, reported this week that they were carefully monitoring GISB’s activities.

” ( We ) remain vigilant about any facts leading to deviations from true Islamic teachings”, they said.

The multi-ethnic nation has a dual-track constitutional system, with Muslims area to muslim laws in some jurisdictions.

The UN family’s company had underlined the “unimaginable scary” faced by the patients.

According to Robert Gass, the representative for UNICEF in Malaysia,” these children have experienced unbelievable horrors and will require long-term professional health and psychosocial support.”

The situation has also rattled citizens.

” This event is very disturbing and abrupt”, said 37-year-old citizen Uzair Abdul Aziz.
