Malaysia signs first ever Mutual Recognition Agreement for driving licences with Maldives

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia and the Republic of Maldives will have a mutual reputation of domestic traveling licences effective the following month.

Transport Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Datuk Seri Doctor Wee Ka Siong ( pic ) said shared recognition of household drivers licenses between both countries would commence on September 12.

In the post on his recognized Facebook page on Friday (Aug 12), Dr Wee stated this was the first zwei staaten betreffend Mutual Recognition Contract (MRA) that Malaysia has with an international country.

“Through this MRA, residents of both nations can continue to use their own respective domestic Driver’s Licenses and generate motor vehicles permitted within their respective regions without needing to go through the process of getting a local driver’s license or making any adjustments to their existing license.

“This MRA will facilitate just about all citizens of both countries who can after that ultimately contribute to the development of the social plus economic sectors associated with both Malaysia and the Republic of Maldives, ” he stated.

He then thanked his counterpart through the Republic of Maldives, Aishath Nahula, (Minister of Transport plus Civil Aviation) designed for co-signing the MRA with Transport Ministry Malaysia.

“I am pleased to encouraged Aishath and her delegation together with Maldives Minister of Condition for Transport and Civil Aviation Ahmed Zuhair, Deputy High Commissioner of Maldives to Malaysia Mariyam Mizna Shareef.

“Following the putting your signature on, we hosted a reception for them inside a restaurant in Putrajaya, ” he said.

Dr Wee added that he anticipated having more collaborative arrangements in transportation with the Maldives.
